Toronto Baby Photography

Welcome to my Toronto baby photography blog and website

Hello, I'm Charlotte. Nice to meet you!

I absolutely love using my newborn and baby photography to bring joy and happiness into people’s lives. I love knowing that the images I’ve created will become priceless heirlooms for your family in years to come. One day, when your children have grown, you’ll hold on to these images as a way to take you back to this special time in your life.

It’s true that newborn babies grow so quickly! It is imperative to professionally capture these fleeting moments before they’re gone forever.

I'll create fresh and natural baby photography of your little one and stylized editorial portraits of your children that reflect the essence and unique personality of your child. From the moment you enter my Toronto baby photography studio you will be a part of a tranquil environment designed as the ideal space for relaxed child portraiture. Sit back with a hot cup of herbal tea and enjoy the experience as I create amazing fine art imagery especially for your child.

{Baby Photography} Anjali 8 Months

I have to say, I’ve been experiencing a lot of eyelash envy these days :). I’m really finding it hard to believe that these tiny little babies have these gorgeous lashes that go for miles and miles, my wimpy lashes feel short changed somehow. Meet beautiful baby Anjali, a happy little 8 month old I recently had the pleasure to photograph.

Baby Anjali’s mom and dad found out about us through auntie Shelly a past referral of ours. We were so happy to have them along to keep little Anjali full of smiles and toothy giggles.

I love this look, complete with faux fur jacket, designer hat and a floral accessory. Very fashionable, I call it the Audrey Hepburn… Too cute!

It was nice to play with some of the awesome legwarmers I ordered. They are super cute and stylish enough for any baby fashionista!

Can’t you just feel the energy in this shot!! Soooo full of life and glee!

It was a real treat to use some of the of the gorgeous Indian fabrics mom and dad brought along for the photography session too!

Such a sweet baby portrait. It’s really nice to have a way to remember how babies were at all ages. I love to be able to document this for our clients.

Because baby Anjali was old enough to sit up in this antique soda box we had a great time photographing her in it with her absolute favourite toy in the world!

She had the time of her life in the wooden box and even got to sport her “I heart My Daddy” onesy. Adorable!!

I always encourage parents to bring along clothing, blankets and fabrics that mean something special to them. Baby Anjali’s parents were sure to bring along Anjali’s baby Raptors jersey and coordinating baby Uggs, gotta love that combo :).

See what I mean about those lashes. Too sweet for words!

{Newborn Poses} Kaleya

Hellllooo readers!

I’m finally back to my blog! I know I’ve been away on a bit of a hiatus… It’s mainly because I’ve been shooting straight since I got back from photographing Melissa and Sean’s gorgeous wedding in St. Thomas in The Virgin Islands just under 2 weeks back. It was a gorgeous spot in the world to have a ceremony and everything was as magical as we could have ever imagined. I had such an amazing time with everyone but I was also itching to get back into the studio with my babies again 🙂 I truly DO love every moment I spend with these little darlings and miss it when we’re gone! Baby Kaleya was the last newborn I photographed before we left snowy Toronto to enjoy the sunshine of the Caribbean…

Kaleya was so adorable and such a sweetie while I photographed her! She was a bit past that sleepy newborn stage so she was wide eyed and bushy tailed for our shoot. It was nice to see her sparkly eyes and to see her personality come through too!

I love this sequence above! What a cute little munchkin! It looks like Kaleya is having a great time boogie-ing away. Too cute for words 🙂 I also loved each shot individually… Check them out below. Isn’t she one of the cutest newborns you’ve ever seen.

This photo above has to be the cutest shot from the newborn session. I love the energy and her expression!

Baby Kaleya’s parents really loved soft neutrals and the creamier colour pallets for the session. I think there is something so dreamy about using soft colours and really focusing on the baby. I also like to use vibrant colours to really make my images pop and play with my creativity too.

Look at those gorgeous little twinkly eyes! There is just something simply beautiful about a classic newborn portrait that I love. I always like to create something like this for my clients, just a beautiful, honest portrait of their little one that they can look back on and cherish.

Thanks so much for being such a great model Kaleya!! A big thanks to mom and dad too, I had such a great time with you guys 🙂

Thanks for checking up on what we’ve been up to everyone… I’ll be caught up on my posts soon. There are some great shoots out there that I’m waiting to post but we’ve been working on a few very special projects (they’ll be announced in the next couple of days on the blog). I can’t wait to share my other sessions with you and some great news soon so stay tuned!

Some Amazing Baby Albums!!

When I first mustered up enough courage to enter the awesome world of newborn and baby photography I knew I really wanted to do it right from the very start! I felt that not only does our photography have to be amazing for our clients to look back on, but our products had to be nothing less than perfection. It was last year at WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) in Las Vegas, that our hearts skipped a beat and we fell head over heels in love with the best baby album makers on the planet, Finao!!

While looking for an album supplier there were a few must have things on our check list… 1) Our albums had to be unlike anything else that was on the market 2) The quality had to be second to none 3) The print quality had to be stunningly gorgeous 4) They had to be durable. Will it last the test of time? Last but not least 5) Are they ‘GREEN’ and socially responsible like us? Do they care about the Earth??

As you can tell Finao scored a perfect 5/5 which really made us a some happy photographers! This was such a match made in heaven for us and we couldn’t be more stoked to deliver such a high quality product to our clients!!

Another thing we love are the colours, textures, patterns, baby album sizes and designs we can select from to really add that personal touch for our clients. This pressed leather (also available in faux leathers) pattern below is so stunning and feels soooo luxurious in your hands… I love it!! It’s like butter baby 😉

Our gorgeous professionally retouched prints are bound to our flushmount albums flawlessly, so the image is never compromised or interrupted. Because our albums are made of a high quality card stock the pages don’t bend, tear or warp. They’ll look as beautiful today as they will in years to come!!

It’s also awesome that we have the luxury of creating albums in original sizes to personalize it even further for our clients… This baby album on the top is a 4×10 book so when it opens up the image is the size of an 8×10… How cool is that!!

4×10 baby album from above…

Here it is opened to an 8×10… Pretty sweet eh?

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog to take a peek at what we’re doing around here… We’ve been some busy bees lately and have lots and lots of gorgeous newborn and baby shoots still to blog! Thank goodness we leave tomorrow for a week on a fabulous Caribbean cruise. We’re freezing over here in Toronto and we need a bit of time in the sun to re-charge, get inspired and scare away the winter blahhhs! See you all next week with hopefully a tan (not a burn)!

{Baby Photography} Professional Retouching

Hello Rainbow Eleven Readers!!

I just wanted to put up a quick post as I’ve been getting a lot of emails lately from apprehensive parents wanting to book a shoot but worried about their baby’s skin. Most people think that babies have perfect skin and can’t imagine why and image would need to be retouched… Here’s the answer… even newborns can experience what is called baby acne. It’s a very common skin condition that newborns experience shortly after the first week. Little raised blemishes and bumps on the skin isn’t exactly the way you want to remember your little one at this special time.

BABY PHOTO BEFORE RETOUCHING:

This is why it is so important to choose a photographer that offers professional retouching. Baby Carys is a gorgeous little 6 month old, but she experienced dry, red, blotchy skin as soon as the winter weather hit. Her mom was concerned about how the photographs would turn out and I assured her that we could work wonders for her baby album. All of our prints, canvases and baby albums are professional retouched by our AMAZING editor to fine art quality.

Thanks for reading and we have some more awesome baby photography sessions to come shortly 🙂
