Oh my goodness, am I ever excited about this post!!! I know it’s been a while since my last post, it’s not because I haven’t been shooting, LOL! I’ve shot 4 baby sessions in the last 7 days so I’ve just been busy snapping away. I was also at an AMAZING photographers convention Mystic 5 in Mystic, Connecticut learning from some of my favourite Master Photographers from around the globe. Yes, that’s the home of the famous Julia Roberts movie, Mystic Pizza. We actually went out for pizza there while in town! It was a fantastic week but my poor little blog ended up getting neglected while we were away having a great time!
Meet baby ‘N’. I call her baby ‘N’ as she didn’t have a name at the time of the shoot. She may now, but finding that perfect name for a baby must be a difficult task
I have a few baby names lined up for the happy day Dave and I have a little one, but I’m sure they’ll come and go between now and then.
She was such a sweet little munchkin! Those cheeks have to be the most adorable baby cheeks I’ve seen in a while. Isn’t she a cutie, Awwwwww.
Baby ‘N’s’ mommy loved some of the beautiful rich blue coloured fabrics I had around the studio. She also loved the shot of baby Raydon in the basket with the blue flourished wall. I was happy to do a new version of one of my favourite shots for her.
Ok, this shot below is part of the reason why I LOVE newborn photography SO much. Such a cute shot. Little toesies, fingers, doesn’t she just look like she’s snoozing away in dreamland… Too cute!
Baby ‘N’s’ Grandparents have a farm and wanted to incorporate a shot of a pumpkin into the newborn photography session. I thought it was an adorable idea and had fun shooting with it in a few of the photographs!
I love this silky fabric I found. It was such a cute way to incorporate some vibrancy into the shoot. Such a cool pattern huh?
No newborn photo session would be complete without some of my favourite, clean, classic, timeless shots. I love photographing my newborns this way! She was so cozy on the black sheepskin! Something like this never goes out of style and will remain as beautiful as it is today in many years to come.
It was really meaningful for me to be the first photographer to take a family photo of mom, dad and baby together. Images like this truly become priceless heirlooms for my clients. I know one day they will be so happy they decided to get a family portrait while their baby was so tiny.
One day when we have children, I know we will have a photo like this taken. I love that baby ‘N’ is holding her mom’s finger. Awww, soo adorable.
Creating these tiny moments for parents to look back on is really what drives me to challenge myself to go further and further with each shoot. Photographing newborns and babies is truly my passion and I’m so happy I can be on the other side of the lens during such a special time!
